In 1940, there was short-lived comic character called The Press Guardian. Perry Chase was the son of The Daily Express' publisher and secretly The Press Guardian.

Today Perry Chase's granddaughter, Perri Chase, has assumed the mantle of The Press Guardian. But, her role has expanded. She must defend press freedom around the world and fight disinformation that seeks to destroy the press and truth itself.
